Delete your Halfway account
This permanently deletes your Halfway account and the data stored on our servers. You can also do this in the app: Settings → Delete account.
1. Confirm it's your number
We'll text a code to the phone number you signed up with.
2. Enter the code
3. Delete your account
Your account has been deleted
Your data has been removed from our servers. You can now uninstall the app to remove the data stored on your phone.
What gets deleted
- Your account: the record linking your (hashed) phone number to your public encryption key and notification token.
- Your phone number sign-in record held by our authentication provider (Firebase).
- Location updates stored on our servers, both those you sent and those sent to you. These are end-to-end encrypted, so we could never read them.
This happens immediately on our live systems and can't be undone. Copies in our backups are deleted within 30 days.
What isn't covered
- Data on your phone: uninstall the app, or use Settings → Delete account, to remove it.
- Your contacts' phones may still show your name or the last location you shared with them. That's stored on their devices, which we can't access.
- Crash reports aren't linked to your account or phone number, so they can't be matched to you. They're deleted automatically after 90 days.
